Dr. Amy Bentley Illescas graduated from UAB School of Medicine in 2001 and has spent her career working in private practices. Early on, she saw the need for continuity in care, where she thinks it is important that a patient sees the same doctor every time they need something. She believes she has built a business that is more about family than anything else.
Dr. Illescas loves getting to know everyone who walks into her clinic and assures them they have a medical physician who is there to look out for them and wants what is best for them. She says she can look you in the eye and say, “I’ve got this. You’ll be fine because we have it under control.
Dr. Amy’s confidence is heavily based on the amazing staff at Total Care 280, who carry the same beliefs and care for every patient that walks through the door. It is also great to know you have a one-stop shop where you can see the doctor and get the lab tests and x-rays you need from the Total Care 280 in-house lab. It is also a perk for her patients that she is non-affiliated when it comes to the area hospitals and can admit you anywhere in the case where hospitalization may be needed.
Along with basic primary care illnesses, Dr. Amy Bentley Illescas has a passion for diabetes care. She is well-versed in the diagnosis, care, and treatment of the disease.
She can also offer Physical exams for DOT workers, as well as being a registered administrator for physicals for immigrants.
